This music is based heavily on algorithmic composition and sample signal processing via the excellent software sythesizer SuperCollider. Additional work is being done with samples and MIDI in Vision 3.5. The whole project is really one large integrated piece with many movements. This is dynamic music, going from sparse and quiet to loud and cacophonous. At one point, the music reaches a pinnacle of noise that is generated by a sample that is slowly mixed on top of itself as it continously loops at random pitches which eventually maxes out my CPU, RAM, and Apple Sound Manager. The result is eerily hypnotic though bone jarring. Other sections have a focused ambience and even looping dancelike rhythms. Like all my music, I can't think of a specific musical genre for this.
